BAY OF ISLANDS BOATHOUSE – INNOWOOD BRUSHED URBAN OAK CLADDING

____________

This is a great example of our Innoclad product in Urban Oak colour used in a New Zealand coastal environment. A residential new build located in Russell, Bay of Islands, the Boat Shed on private property has been recently completed in stunning vertical orientation.

The architect intended for the use of natural timber. However, it is well-known that natural timber would fail to withstand the harsh salt water environment resulting from the ebb and flow of the tidal line.

The solution was to source a sustainable, durable and aesthetically appealing composite timber alternative that could withstand marine intertidal zones and salt spray.

Tested and proven as being suitable for marine inter tidal zones and salt spray environments, INNOWOOD’s sustainably sourced and manufactured composite timber product used to construct the Russell Boat Shed met every requirement of the architectural brief.

The architect’s original desire to create the look of natural timber was achieved while the composite timber material used ensured the structure would withstand the test of time, salt water and the weather, including the harsh reflective UV rays from the water.

This project demonstrated to the industry that INNOWOOD is capable of delivering the ideal solution and timber alternative, even in the most challenging environment.

INNOWOOD PRODUCT COLOUR

INNOWOOD board is made predominantly from timber hardwood waste therefore colour will vary slightly according to the hardwood species used in its manufacture. It is therefore recommended that all the boards be sourced from the same production batch but if there are still variations within the batch, ensure that the material is mixed prior to installation. The product is also subject to natural variation in finish as part of the manufacturing process.
