20 Years, Shaped by Projects

Key moments that shaped INNOWOOD – from founding vision to a master brand in architectural building systems and INNOWOOD Material Technologies.

THE FOUNDER

The Vision Behind INNOWOOD

_______

20 years on, our drive is the same as it was on day one: make architectural timber beautiful, durable, and radically sustainable. From the first board to the latest building facade, every INNOWOOD plank carries the same promise – built to outlast trends, designed to outlast time.

Learn more about our story

John-Kozlowski
2005

INNOWOOD Founded

John Kozlowski established INNOWOOD with a mission to develop engineered architectural timber systems for the construction industry.

2006

Sydney Wildlife Zoo

First landmark project. hollow composite timber reinforced with aluminium reduced facade weight by 50% – one of Australia’s first major engineered composite timber projects.

2010

Proven Systems Portfolio

Bespoke solutions evolve into a trusted range: decking, cladding, screening, ceiling and shading systems – specified across commercial, education, hospitality and residential projects.

LANDMARK

Sydney Wharf 8 & 9

Iconic waterfront development. Engineered for Sydney Harbour’s harsh marine environment – salt spray, tidal conditions, two decades of uncompromised performance.

LANDMARK PROJECTS

Proven by Time

From early landmark projects to long-term waterfront applications, INNOWOOD systems demonstrate how engineering, material innovation and project-driven development can support architectural design intent and deliver durable outcomes over time.

OUR
ENGINEERING
PHILOSOPHY

"Helping architects realise their design intent through innovative architectural timber systems."

For more than two decades, INNOWOOD has combined research, engineering experience and project-driven development to create practical architectural timber systems for modern construction.

OUR ENGINEERING PHILOSOPHY

Every system is shaped by real projects, refined through practical application and engineered for long-term performance.

Research & Development

Led by John Kozlowski and the technical team, INNOWOOD continues to develop flexible, lightweight and practical systems for interior and exterior applications.

Sustainable Performance

Preserving the warmth of timber while supporting durability, reduced maintenance and more sustainable material use.

Design Flexibility

Creating profiles, fixing methods and complete system solutions that help architects achieve their design intent.
SYSTEMS

Architectural Building Systems

Project-specific solutions have evolved into a proven portfolio of architectural building systems, supported by INNOWOOD’s engineering philosophy and INNOWOOD Material Technologies.

CONTINUING INNOVATION

Evolving Material Technologies

Over the past two decades, INNOWOOD has cintinued to invest in research, engineering and product development to meet the changing needs of architecture and construction.

What began wIth INNOWOOD’s original engineered composite timber technology has evolved into a broader family of engineered material technologies. Today, these are organised into the INNOWOOD Natural Series, INNOWOOD PLUS Series and INNOWOOD Unique Series – each developed to support different architectural applicationbs, performance requirements and future innovation.

INNOWOOD Natural Series

INNOWOOD NATURAL Series

The next generation of engineered composite timber technology, developed to enhance durability, colour stability and long-term outdoor performance.
INNOWOOD PLUS Series 2

INNOWOOD PLUS Series

Enhanced composite systems developed with upgraded surface technology to improve colour stability, weather resistance and long-term outdoor performance.
INNODECK Autumn Oak

INNOWOOD UNIQUE Series

A collection of specialised engineered material technologies developed for unique architectural applications, future material innovation and evolving project requirements.

LOOKING FORWARD

Master Brand • Engineering • Systems • Innovation

Over the past 20 years, INNOWOOD has evolved from an original engineered composite timber technology into a master brand representing engineering philosophy, INNOWOOD Material Technologies and Architectural Building Systems.

As new technologies continue to evolve, the guiding philosophy remains the same - delivering practical, reliable and long-lasting architectural building systems.
